Detroit Zoo Boo 10-19-2008

On Sunday evening we went to the Detroit Zoo Boo...it's an annual thing we have done for the last 4 years. We had great weather. It was Dino's first time at the Zoo and as you can see by the pictures, he was only marginally impressed! He was such a good boy, just strolling along, without a peep! He seems to like all the colorful costumes. The entire Zoo is decorated with real pumpkins, painted to represent animals...they are really cool to look at. There are treat stations along the way and people in costumes pass out goodies...then there is a show at the end of the walk and then you can get donuts and hot cider...of all the years we have gone this was one of the very nicest...the "pumpkin animals" were great and the weather was warm enough to be enjoyable for us all. We have gone with our friends each year. It's fun to watch the excitement they have running from station to station - you gotta' love it!

Gingerbread House at Historic Wolcott Mill 10-12-08

Today we had the most beautiful day here in Michigan - it went to 78! I took Averee, Joee and two of Averee's school friends to the Historic Wolcott Mill, which is part of the parks system in our area. They made Haunted Gingerbread Houses...these are true masterpieces! They are already sitting on J.J.'s mantel for all to see! Afterwards the girls enjoyed some running time in the park area. It couldn't have been a better day! The Berdeski/Caliguiri Halloween Extravaganza continues!! More to come next week when we go to the Detroit Zoo Boo0000. Hope we get as lucky with the weather, but I have my doubts.

I don't think Joee could have fit one more piece of candy on that roof -- I was just waiting for those graham crackers to collapse!

Averee didn't have quite as much on her house - she did more eating than decorating...
Don't you just love the look of pure joy and freedom in these faces!

Halloween at Greenfield Village 10/11/08

J.J. and I took the kids to Greenfield Village - Dino's first Halloween! He wore the same costume as the girls had worn for their first Halloween - he really didn't seem too impressed by the whole event! It was a PERFECT night...65 degrees and beautiful...Averee was "Supergirl" and Joee was "Batman Girl" (her version of Batgirl)... this was the first event in our annual 'HALLOWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA" !! More to come!
